1...مهّد الإمام الحسن -عليه السلام- لاختبار الناس ومعرفة مدى إيمانهم بالحرب والإستعداد لها حينما خطبهم قائلا: إنّا والله ما يثنينا عن أهل الشام شكّ ولا ندم، وإنّما كنّا نقاتل أهل الشام بالسلامة والصبر، فشيبت السلامة بالعداوة، والصبر بالجزع.... ألا وإنّ معاوية دعانا لأمر ليس فيه عزّ ولا نصفة، فإن أردتم الموت رددناه عليه وحاكمناه إلى الله، عزّ وجلّ، بظبى السيوف، وإن أردتم الحياة قبلناه وأخذنا لكم الرضى. فناداه النّاس من كلّ جانب: البقيّة البقيّة !وأمضى الصّلح».(-ابن الأثير، الكامل في التاريخ: ج3، ص406)

2...وقال الشيخ المفيد في الإرشاد: وسار معاوية نحو العراق ليغلب عليه فلما بلغ جسر منبج تحرك الحسن -عليه السلام- وبعث حجر بن عدي فأمر العمال بالمسير واستنفر الناس للجهاد فتثاقلوا عنه ثم خفّ معه أخلاط من الناس بعضهم شيعة له ولأبيه عليه السلام وبعضهم محكمة يؤثرون قتال معاوية بكل حيلة وبعضهم أصحاب فتن وطمع في الغنائم وبعضهم شكاك وبعضهم أصحاب عصبية اتبعوا رؤساء قبائلهم لا يرجعون إلى دين..

3...ونظر الإمام الحسن عليه السلام- بعد حوادث جرت في تلك الاثناء- في أمر الناس. فازدادت بصيرته عليه السلام بخذلان القوم له وفساد نيات المحكمة فيه بما أظهروه له من السبّ والتكفير واستحلال دمه ونهب أمواله ولم يبق معه من يأمن غوائله إلا خاصة من شيعته وشيعة أبيه أمير المؤمنين عليه السلام وهم جماعة لا تقوم لأجناد الشام، فاستجاب للصلح.(المفيد، الإرشاد: ج‏2، ص10.)

ثانياُ...نتابع ... لأستاذ المحقق والمفكر الإسلامي ...الصرخي الحسني..
تلك الظروف والأسباب اضطرت الإمام الحسن علیھ السلام في النھایة إلى قبول الصلح غیر مبایع
لمعاویة والصلح بطبیعة الحال یختلف اختلافا جذریا عن البیعة فھذا -الرسول الأعظم صلوات الله وسلامه علیه -صالح قریش في الصلح المعروف بصلح الحدیبیة أما البیعة فتعني الولاء والإقرار بالخلافة لمعاویة -وھذا ما لم یفعلھ الإمام الحسن -علیه السلام- ولم تنص علیه بنود الصلح مطلقا

ولو بحثنا في الأسباب والدواعي التي أجبرت الإمام سلام الله علیھ إلى الصلح مع معاویة فلا نجد بحثا تناول ھذه القضیة بصورة دقیقة وبموضوعية سوى بحث ( صلح الامام الحسن )الاستاذ المحقق والمفكر– الصرخي الحسني- فقد أجمل في البحث تلك الاسباب مبینن بعضها تعود إلى أسباب خاصة بمعسكر -الإمام الحسن -نفسه وأسباب ترجع إلى معسكر الشر والعدوان وھو معسكر معاویة ..وھذه.....الأسباب كالأتي ..

1 – انحلال الجیش وانشقاقھ حیث كان جیش الإمام فئات متعددة منھا الفئة الموالیة لبني أمیة وھم أبناء الأسر البارزة الذین لا یھمھم سوى الزعامة الدنیویة .
2 -فئة الخوارج ( الحروریة ) أصحاب الأفكار المنحرفة الذین افسدوا كل من خالطھم وقد استولوا على عقول السذج والبسطاء ..
3 – فئة المشككین وھم الھمج الرعاع الذین ینعقون ویتبعون رؤساءھم حیث خان منھم ثمانیة آلاف صلح الإمام الحسن .. الدواعي والأسباب التحقوا بجیش معاویة ..

4 -السأم من الحروب .. الجمل وصفین والنھروان حروب متتالیة وعدم حصولھم على الغنائم في تلك الحروب وھذا یفقد ولاء أھل الدنیا ..
5 -عامل الرشوة الذي اتبعه معاویة ووجد تقبلا في معسكر الإمام الحسن ..علیه السلام ..
6 -عوامل المناصب والوظائف التي أوعدھا معاویة لكل من یخون ویخرج عن الإمام الحسن .علیه
السلام ..
7 -الكتب والاتفاقیات التي أرسلھا و عقدھا بعض الخونة من رؤساء العشائر مع معاویة وأرسل معاویة نسخا منھا إلى الإمام الحسن الأمر الذي كشف عمق الخیانة والمؤامرة ضد الإمام ..علیه السلام ..
